Coronary Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)
IVUS allows cardiologist to see images inside the heart and coronary arteries, which assist in diagnosis. The primary benefit of IVUS is that it offers a tomographic 360 degree view of the arterial wall from the inside, allowing a more complete and accurate assessment than is possible with angiography. The team pioneered IVUS Technology in Andhra Pradesh.

Day Care Coronary Angiogram
Coronary angiograms are done from wrist (Radial root) and from groin region (Femoral root) depending on the patient condition. Our Cardiac team got the honours for contributing more than 18,000 Radial Procedures and INTERVENTIONS, the Second highest volume till documented. Radial angiogram is for patients comfort and convenience and patient can go back to work at the earliest.
Primary PCI
At Apollo Hospitals, Hyderguda our focus is to save Golden Hour of Heart Attack (one hour) to recanalize the culprit vessel in AMI by primary PCI Task Force. In this system the door to balloon time is minimized to less than one hour.
The Cardiac team has experience of over a decade in INVASIVE and NON-INVASIVE techniques of cardiology. They have a Collaboration with Japanese specialists for treating chronic total occlusions (Chronic Blocks in Coronaries) without surgery by advanced techniques,LMCA stenting, bifurcation stenting. Dr. V. Surya Prakash Rao and
Dr. P. L. N. Kapardhi with the help of team members have written a book on Radial Procedures “Radial Pearls”, which became very popular for learners in this field. The team is involved in several ongoing Research trials both in invasive and non invasive fields.
Permanent Pacemaker and CRT
Cardiologists at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderguda are well experienced in implanting pacemakers with precision.
CRT (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy): Is a new form of therapy for congestive heart failure caused by dilated Cardiomyopathy. Patients who have heart failure that limits their ability to function, either an interventricular condition delay or bundle branch block on their ECG are the right patients to receive CRT.
Carotid and Renal Stenting: The Cardiac team assists Neurological Department for stroke management by performing carotid stenting and also renal stenting in refractory cases of Hypertension.
