Achievements

Received training in the basic principles of research methodology, ethical approval and data collection at Hammersmith Hospital, a renowned centre of research excellence where I was exposed to the workings and results of clinical research on a regular basis. I was involved in the management of babies, who were recruited for TOBY (Total Body Hypothermia) trial, which examined the role of whole-body cooling in infants with evidence of hypoxia-ischaemia and electrographic abnormalities within the first 6 hours following birth.

  • ‘Infantile spasms: A retrospective study in a tertiary paediatric neurology centre over 8 years’ published as a poster at EPNA 2009 congress. Co-author with Patil S, Desai N, Mohammed BP.
  • ‘Boys with Attention−deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) receiving pharmaceutical treatment may not achieve optimal growth potential’
  • Poster at the 39th Danube Symposium and 1st International congress on ADHD, 2nd −5th June 2007, Wuerzburg, Germany, co−author with Lek N, Mittal A, Perera S.
  • ‘Growth may be impaired among boys with Attention−deficit Hyperactivity Disorder on long−term stimulant medication’ as a poster, at the 35th British Society for Paediatric Endocrine and Diabetes ( BSPED) 12th and 13th September 2007.
