  • My project involved developing and validating methods for analysing routine administrative data for hospitals in England to describe care for cholangiocarcinoma. This has involved the application of novel linkage techniques to build a master file containing all episodes of care for a 1-year incident cohort of cases, flagging key milestones in their journey and generating variables to describe processes (procedures; admissions; re-admissions) and outcomes (death, via linkage to ONS).

  • I am a MRCP(UK) PACES examiner
  • I am an experienced teacher having delivered lectures and clinical sessions nationally, internationally and locally, to varied learner groups including doctors, nurses and undergraduates, receiving excellent feedback as evidenced in my e-portfolio.
  • I have also attended various teaching courses including “Effective teaching skills”, “Presentation skills” and aware of various teaching techniques and audio visual aids. I have also acted as a facilitator in PBL and well aware of various methods.
  • I played a major role in organising 5 weeks of PACES teaching for the June-July 2006.
  • I am a frequent assessor for ‘Case based discussions’, DOPS, Mini CEX and also give constructive criticism. I feel people respond well to my teaching style and I have had many positive comments
  • I also organised and conducted teaching sessions to third and fifth year medical students and nurses. My flexibility and understanding the group expectations has earned me an excellent feedback.
  • I am also a certified Trainer in endoscopy and train juniors in endoscopies in my current hospital.
