Apollo Emergency Medicine Foundation is a non-profit initiative created solely for the dispersion of emergency medicine (EM) knowledge, both within Apollo Hospitals Group, as well as the healthcare community in India & surrounding countries. Our action plans focus on EM education for doctors, nurses, paramedics & students, EM research, subspecialty training and academic partnerships. The intent is to increase the leadership base and manpower required to rapidly scale up the emergency care system in India.
Our vision is not only to steer young graduates towards becoming leaders in emergency medicine, but also to provide education, training & certification for thousands of existing doctors, nurses & allied staff who are working in ‘casualty wards’ all over the country.
Operational since August 2010, our first project is the ApolloEMF Network, created for the collective coordination of academic & administrative activities of more than 53 EDs within Apollo Hospitals Group. The long term success of a nation wide emergency care delivery framework is fully dependent on a robust communication & information storage system. Keeping in mind the evolution of information technology, this future-proof network was designed on a cloud based model enabling convenient, mobile & on-demand access to a shared pool of information. ApolloEMF network functions in synergy with the Apollo Telemedicine Network, Apollo Health SuperHighway, both which carry secure patient information, and other existing communications. Access to this network is currently restricted to the Service Line Managers and Educational Supervisors of Apollo EDs.
Apollo Group is the first & largest hospital Group in Asia to standardize all its EDs with uniform protocols and processes.
