Endorsed by: Indian Chest Society South Zone Date: 4th & 5th May 2019 | Venue: HICC, Novotel, Hyderabad We at Apollo Heart and Lung Transplant Institutes are pleased to welcome you to the Update on management of advanced lung diseases and Lung Transplantation which will be held in Hyderabad on 4th& 5th, May 2019.

Advanced non neoplastic lung diseases remain a challenge for both the clinician and patient alike. As there are few available treatment options, an insight into the various emerging and experimental concepts of managing these complex diseases, both medical and surgical, will provide us with specialized knowledge in providing cutting-edge therapies for these subset of patients.

Lung transplantation currently is the preferred treatment option for a variety of end-stage pulmonary diseases. Remarkable progress has occurred world wide through refi nements in technique and improved understanding of transplant immunology and microbiology. Despite that, India with a huge population of end stage lung diseases is still lagging in comparison with other countries.

It is a multidisciplinary symposium, designed specially for all practising pulmonologists, intensivists, anaesthesiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons who are involved in management of advanced lung diseases and lung transplantation. The scientifi c session is aimed to focus on many intricacies and newer therapies in the management of advanced lung diseases like earlier diagnosis with a view to earlier intervention, molecular and genetic alterations, pulmonary artery hypertension, the timing and allocation of organs for lung transplantation and palliative therapies for advanced manifestations. There will be multidisciplinary interactive case discussions on evaluation and management of advanced lung diseases by stalwarts in the fi eld.

The Congress also includes two workshops by eminent national and international faculty.
